What began as an idea to make handling hay easier on the Matlack farm in Burrton, KS, has grown into a successful business for one rural Kansas community. Stinger Inc was started by brothers Bill and Larry Matlack in 1992. The company has expanded from 3 to over 35 employees to include some third-generation family members. Over 32 years later, Stinger has nearly 1000 machines across the country, from New York to California and in 5 countries outside the United States handling nearly 12,000,000 bales per year. The company specializes in manufacturing the world’s fastest self-propelled bale wagon, cube-line square bale wrappers, and baled biomass transport equipment, focusing on efficiency, speed, durability, and affordability.
