Some of the products that are proudly made in Kansas are aerospace components, chip manufacturing, EV battery production, wheat and other agricultural products, petroleum and natural gas, chemical fertilizers, machinery and equipment, metal fabrication, automobiles and parts, plastics and rubber products, printing and publishing, and stone and clay products. The Made in Kansas Trustmark is more than just a label. It is a symbol of the pride that Kansans have in every product they create. It shows that the products are made with excellence, reliability, and consistency, and that they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
Made in Kansas manufacturing companies extend pride in both their products and their people. Certified manufacturers have access to the exclusive Made in Kansas Trustmark to feature on packaging, products, and promotional materials.
Eligibility
There is no membership fee to participate in the Made in Kansas program.
To join the program, a business must utilize manufacturing in the production process and meet one additional criterion:
1. More than half the components come from Kansas
2. Final assembly takes place in Kansas
3. Headquarters are based in Kansas and includes the
functions of design and/or engineering of products.
The Kansas Department of Commerce reviews and approves applications. Other approval considerations will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
All participating companies are required to maintain good standing with state and do not owe any undisputed, delinquent local, state, or federal taxes. Companies must certify annually that they continue to meet the membership criteria under which they were approved.
Promotion
Participating in the Made in Kansas program gives manufacturers the opportunity to showcase Kansas talent, ingenuity, and quality through collaboration and partnership. Certified manufacturers are promoted through Commerce’s digital and social media efforts.
Community
The Kansas Department of Commerce maintains a public directory of certified program partners that manufacture Kansas made products. Certified manufacturers belong to an elite group and are encouraged to participate in peer-to-peer mentorship.
